Hull City Ladies Reserves vs Durham Cestria Reserves 28/4/24

The last reserves game of the season was at our home ground of North Cave Playing Fields. We'd had a deluge over the past few days so the ground was extremely wet. We were expecting the match to be called off like the first team had been. But, with sheer determination and hard graft, Danny, John and the team up at North Cave had been working solidly all morning to get rid of the water to enable the match to go ahead - and it did. Huge round of applause guys.

We had a small band of the faithful supporting the ladies despite the rain. I have to say that I'm always worried about getting the gear wet but John & Danny kindly erected a gazebo for me to shoot under - really appreciated thanks guys.

The match started off badly and the ladies were 1-0 down within a couple of minutes. It took them some time to recover and get their game heads on, but they did. Sortly after the break, a superb free kick by Lou Dealtry-Todd found a group of players in the box and Lily Scott was first to react, swivel and leather the ball into the net. There were several more good chances but in the end, they had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Thanks ladies.
